Dear Praying Friends,
...begins with a single step---only in this case the journey was 4179 miles, and I'm sure glad we didn't have to walk :-). Thanks so much to those of you who were praying for us as we left our home of 9 months in Davenport, WA and made the long journey east to our new (albeit temporary) home near Philadelphia, PA. God answered your prayers. We are happy to report that the van did not have any mechanical difficulties even pulling our trailer, the kids travelled very well in the car, and we made it safely through winter weather and highway driving with very little incident. We did have snow following us from Washington through Montana and Wyoming to South Dakota, but thankfully it did not accumulate too much on the highway. The weather caused us to slow down for safety's sake, but was more a nuisance than a hazard. After South Dakota we had clear highways and much warmer weather all the way to Pennsylvania. We are thankful to have been able to visit many friends, family, and supporters along the way, some of whom we had not seen in over 5 years. Thank you for upholding us with your prayers on this trip.
So what's next? We will be living in missionary housing provided by one of our supporting churches in Cheltenham, PA for the next 3 months until we leave for Paraguay on June 15, Lord willing. We are very thankful for God's provision of furnished housing for this short time we will be here. While here we will be visiting supporters, churches, and family on the east coast, and making preparations for our trip to Paraguay. We appreciate your prayers as we travel, complete all the paperwork necessary to get our Paraguayan visas, pack up our belongings, and say all our goodbyes. These short months will fly by, and our list of things to get accomplished before we leave seems to keep growing :-). Please pray with us that we can complete all the things God has for us here, and especially that we will be able to secure our Paraguayan visas in short order. We don't expect to have any problems with that, but experience has shown us that visa paperwork often presents us with unexpected opportunities to trust God :-).
We appreciate each of you and are thankful that you have chosen to partner with us in ministry through your prayers on our behalf.
In Christ,
Brad and Shilo Cain
